Conditions we treat

Pelvic pain and tension

Persistent pelvic pain, tailbone flare-ups, or deep hip tension that shows up on long drives or after a ride deserve a whole-person plan.

What it is

Pelvic pain

Pelvic pain is pain in the lower belly, pelvis, tailbone, or between the hip bones. When it lasts six months or more it’s called chronic pelvic pain. It can come from organs (like the bladder, bowel or uterus), from muscles and joints, or from nerves that have become sensitive, and often from more than one at once. Tight, overactive pelvic floor muscles are a common and treatable part of the picture.

Pelvic pain is common and often goes unexplained for years. It’s real, and it’s not “just stress.”

How Katrina helps

A plan built around you

  1. 1

    Hear the whole story

A careful history and movement assessment, with any exam based on your comfort.

  2. 2

    Help muscles let go

Hands-on care, breathing and relaxation techniques for tight, guarding muscles.

  3. 3

    Move with less pain

Gradual movement that rebuilds tolerance, alongside your medical care (including for endometriosis).

In Katrina’s words

Pelvic pain is rarely “just stress,” and it is not something you should have to normalize. We combine a careful history with movement assessment and pelvic floor evaluation when appropriate—internal or external based on your comfort and clinical need.

Pain related to endometriosis or other medical conditions can be part of the story. We are not an endometriosis specialty clinic, but we can help with how your pelvis and hips move and recover alongside your medical care.

If you have fever, sudden severe pain, or neurologic changes, seek urgent medical care first.

Common questions

FAQs

Will I need an internal exam?

Not always. We decide together based on your symptoms and comfort. External work on hips, breath, and coordination helps many people significantly.

Can pelvic PT help if I already tried “just relax”?

Yes—that advice skips the how. We teach your nervous system and muscles a different experience of movement and touch, with pacing that respects pain science.

How is this different from general orthopedic PT?

Pelvic health training changes how we assess pressure, core strategy, and the pelvic floor’s role in the activities you care about.
