What it is
Bowel and constipation
Constipation means bowel movements that are infrequent, hard, or difficult to pass. Sometimes the cause is food, fluids or medication. Other times the pelvic floor muscles tighten when they should relax (called dyssynergia), so stool can’t pass easily no matter how much fiber you eat. Years of straining can also strain the support around your pelvic organs.
Constipation is very common, and when the pelvic floor is part of it, retraining those muscles helps.

How Katrina helps
A plan built around you
- 1
Teach muscles to relax
Help your pelvic floor lengthen and open when it’s time to go.
- 2
Position and breath
Toilet posture and breathing that make emptying easier.
- 3
Habits that stick
A routine that fits your life, coordinated with your doctor.
In Katrina’s words
Your pelvic floor has to relax to let the bowel empty well—and it has to support you on a long hike. We are not a GI clinic, but pelvic floor PT can address muscle coordination, positioning, and habits that keep you stuck in a strain cycle.
We collaborate with your physician if red-flag symptoms appear. Our website form is not the place for a bowel diary or detailed medical history—that belongs in Jane once you are a patient.

Is pelvic PT embarrassing for bowel issues?
Bowel health is normal clinic conversation here. We have heard it all—kindly and without judgment.
When should I see a GI doctor instead?
Blood in stool, unexplained weight loss, fever, or persistent severe pain warrant medical evaluation before or alongside PT.
